Louisiana State Fire Marshal

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATING AMUSEMENT RIDES OR ATTRACTIONS IN LOUISIANA

Prior to operating any amusement ride or attraction the Office of the State Fire Marshal must receive the following documentation and fees:

    • Certificate of Insurance (minimum $1,000,000 policy and schedule of rides covered)
    • Owner supplied list of rides
      • Name of ride
      • Serial Number of ride
    • Itinerary of locations to be played and dates
    • Inspection report on each (these inspections and reports are to be completed by a NAARSO level I (minimum) inspector that has a Louisiana Commission to inspect amusement rides/attractions
    • A check or money order to cover the total fees as required by the law;
      • For rides which are designed for seventy-five pounds or less per passenger unit, $100 for each inspection certificate.
      • For rides which are designed for seventy-five pounds or more and for which the manufacturer's recommended assembly time is less than forty hours, $150 for each inspection certificate.
      • For rides which the manufacturer's recommended assembly time is forty hours or more, $200 for each inspection certificate

The above information shall be provided annually with a new inspection report on each amusement ride or attraction.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION AND COMMISSIONING OF AMUSEMENT RIDE/ATTRACTION INSPECTORS

Prior to submitting inspection reports on amusement rides or attractions each Inspector is to be registered and commissioned by this office. The information that is required to be submitted is as follows:

    • Inspectors Name, address, and phone number
    • Inspectors social security number
    • Photostatic copy of their current NAARSO work card
    • Check or Money Order to cover the fee;
      • Fifty dollars ($50.00) for the initial registration and commission
      • Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each years renewal
