Louisiana State Urban Search and Rescue

The Louisiana State Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Joint Task Force (LA JTF-1) is trained and equipped to respond to all major hazards, including WMD, terrorist, structural collapse, water rescue, confined space, rope, trench, and vehicle rescue incidents. LA TF-1 is made up of four sub-task forces in addition to four regional response teams, all made up of fire personnel from across Louisiana. The State Fire Marshal's Office is tasked with coordinating training and deployments for these teams.
