This page is provided as a reference for the codes, rules, and laws that are enforced and upheld by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
The Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code (LSUCC), consists of codes referenced by state law R.S. 40:1730.21 through 1730.40.1, as well as the adopted life safety, accessibility and fire codes, rules and laws enforced by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), R.S. 40:1574 through R.S. 40:1593 as follows:

- 2021 International Building Code (IBC), (excluding Part 1, and Chapters 11 and 27);
- 2021 International Existing Building Code (IEBC), (excluding Part 1);
- 2021 International Mechanical Code (IMC);
- 2021 International Plumbing Code (IPC);
- 2021 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC);
- 2020 National Electric Code (NEC);
- 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
OSFM Fire, Life Safety, and Accessibility Codes:
- NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, 2015 edition, and the standards referenced therein;
- The fire protection and egress provisions of the LSUCC adopted codes;
- Americans with Disabilities Act and Architectural Barriers Act (ADA-ABA) Accessibility Guidelines, 2010 Standard;
- HUD Fair Housing Act Design Manual (1998 revised edition) as per Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines 24 CFR Part 100.205 1991.

As of July 1, 2017, the plans and specifications for every structure built or remodeled in the state of Louisiana must be drawn in accordance with the requirements of the 2015 Edition of the NFPA 101 Life and Safety Code and Chapter 9 and 10 of the International Building Code.
